About Cable Ties And Wire Tying

By Melissa Richardson

If you have the need to tie down wires effectively and durably, you should use cables. These are very nifty thingamajigs that are made from many materials, usually stainless steel or polymer. One things for sure, though, is that it has the capacity to durably and sustainably keep wires together. Such is the case with wire tying.

Cables are pretty much ubiquitous. Theyre seen everywhere due to their multipurpose and all around functions. From the construction site to residential houses, theyre familiar sights indeed. And thats just to be expected, seeing the many applications and enterprises in which its the main, sole, or primary applicator.

There are many kinds of variations to have and source, depending on what use you have cut out for it. For example, if it is for a standard line of job, you will do just as well with a tie made from nylon. This is the most ubiquitous type, with its tape section and teeth that go together to form a ratchet. The result is that the cable is pulled and tied up, securing whatever it is youre securing in place, so that nothing comes undone.

However, there are some variants that are actually reusable. It comes with a closed loop, and when you need to readjust, instead of destroying the cable completely, then you can just nudge and release it. This is done through easing the ratchet out of the rack. So thats it. You can actually get some cable ties that are designed to be reused.

First off, see to how the tie is constructed. Some are one piece and others, two. When its the single type, then that means that it all comes in a single unit, with one material. They can be lower in cost. However, theyre still all around useful and versatile, for many operations in the home and office. The two piece is comparatively of a higher performance and quality. It has a smooth locking mechanism that can be incorporated in a streamlined way, without the risk of over tightening.

The benefits with the last is that it allows many cables to be bounded together in a bundle. It can create what you would call a wiring tree. This is also remarkable to an extents, since many knots equate to a greater reinforcement and greater strength. That is why you should choose the right kind of tie for your purpose. Some have more features and capabilities than others.

And then theres the releasable type. As per its adjective, this one is easy to remove. At the same time, it is also quite easy to apply, and like the beaded, its reusable as well. Theres really quite a lot of benefits to be gleaned when a tie is recyclable. After all, theyre either made of plastic or steel, non biodegradable in any way. Therefore, its nifty that theres a way to reduce carbon footprint.

Moving on, you have the ladder style cables. This variety is often seen and observed in retail applications, usually for the purpose of bundling. If youve ever walked down the aisle of a supermarket and seen those bundling ties, then its probably this. Besides that, theres the identification cable, and its supposedly used in, as per its appellation, printed identification. The parallel entry type pitches itself to be tamper proof. Therefore, its quite difficult to remove or release. For aesthetic purposes, it also has head thats low profile.

The point is, you should get the right cable tie for your purpose. Some are stronger than others, and others are just simply more effective. It could be that they operate in certain environments that require them to have some such quality or characteristic. The point is, to be effective in this enterprise, there are perfectly engineered variants to choose from.
