Scratched Glasses Lens Repair: Bright Your Vision

By Jessica Parker

As things get older they experience a wear and tear, even if the objects in question don t really do much. Scratches can paint a very deceiving picture, especially if they happen to appear on a glass surface. Not only can this look render new objects to look old but it s also appealing to the eye. But there is a solution, albeit a temporary one for Scratched Glasses Lens Repair.

But in order to determine whether it s possible to fix them at home or if they will need more of an expert touch, there is a simple test that can be performed. Run a fingernail on the affected area and if one is not able to feel the affected area than it is most likely safe to use the methods listed below to solve than an unappealing look of scratched glass.

One has the option to create a scratch remover from the comfort of their own home. All that will be needed is toothpaste and some water. If one decides to use this method then it s important to note that less is more, from that point onwards all one has to do is polish on the desired area in a circular motion. If it doesn t work the first time, repeat until satisfied.

Moreover, there is always the option to use what jewellers use to ensure that the metals they work with on a daily basis stay shiny, appearing brand new and most importantly scratch free. That same philosophy and products work similarly very well on glass services. As anybody who has used metal cleaning polish would attest. All that s required from an effort point of view is a good polish to buff the scratches away, leaving a near flawless product behind.

Polish used for metal is great for keeping metals shiny and brand new, be it chrome or gold. Hence jewellers use it so much. But it does have other uses such as removing scratches on glass. All it takes is a through buffering on the affected area and there should be signs of improvement and the additional shine added to one of the most versatile substances in the house.

What is important to remember is that whatever method is used. The use of a microfiber cloth or a cotton ball is essential as it does a dual job of cleaning the surface that needs to be cleaned. But also ensures that no further scratches are incurred in the process of cleaning, causing people to work backwards and not forwards which seems counterintuitive to the objective that they would like to achieve.

So as any female will tell you, there is an art to painting nails, one doesn t just dab nail polish however they see fit. The same thing applies with windows. By using a thin coat of clear nail polish on the affected area and leaving it to dry. The probability of scratches, dings and dents are most likely to disappear. After an hour or so, remove the nail polish with nail polish remover and the surface should be as good as new.

If none of the above seems to help in removing scratches found on a glass surface than it would be safe to say that the need for someone more experience or more expensive means to get rid of them if the need to do so is an absolute must. It s important to remember that these solutions have limitations and therefore not expect a stallion from a donkey.
