Mindfulness is the process in psychology where someone brings their attention to experiences happening presently. This can be developed by practicing meditation or other training which also develops their wisdom and self knowledge that leads gradually to enlightenment or a freedom completely without suffering. Studies show that this practice is correlated strongly with perceived health and greater well being.

They show also that mental illness, such as depression and anxiety, is contributed by worry and rumination which this practice can reduce effectively when used to intervene. Gratitude is the powerful way in training you to notice the positives in life rather the negatives and is what happiness is founded on. Create a group for gratitude by contacting some friends and make each other responsible for sharing something they feel grateful for that day. Practice self compassion through avoiding being self critical and being harsh to self when coping with facing hardships. This makes you a master of thinking and mind instead of their slave so train before the arrival of challenges. This helps you be mentally prepared and strong when needed.
