The Truth About How Many Americans Are Unemployed

By Scott Myers

The rising cost of living has people working full time jobs and others working more than one job. However, there are so many people who are still unemployed. This is either due to the fact that they cannot work due to personal reasons or the are either under or over the age limit. Statistics show that there are 93 million unemployed Americans in the country, however, this includes various other citizens who do not work. So you might want to consider the following information the next time you ask about how many Americans are unemployed.

According to statistics 93 million people in the country are not working. However this figure is not entirely accurate as it includes children and elderly folk as well. So the figure may look quite large but it is not a realistic figure when you consider that many people included in this amount cannot work for obvious reasons.

There are people who are self employed or work for remote companies in other countries. They may be a part of this figure too. Many women choose to stay at home with their children instead of paying for child care and if the other parent makes enough to support the family comfortably, it works ll for them.

Most people in the country who are not employed come from various parts of the country. Not only it this a problem in this country but in many countries around the world. The truth is that in most cases, there are simply not enough jobs to go around.

This has been a problem since the recession hit and the economy has never truly recovered from it. The fact is that there may just nit be enough jobs to go around. Most people choose to study first and then find jobs, however these people may be good contributors to the economy in the long run.

Many women are working and once they give birth they realize that they would rather stay at home with their children. If the other parent ca afford to take care of the household comfortable on their salary then this is fine, however, if they cannot then there is a problem.

Unemployment affects everyone, and not just the people who are unemployed. If a father is not working, then children also are affected by it at home. Some couples make a joint decision that one parent will work while the other stays home with the kids and if the working parent earns enough to support the family then it work out fine.

Some people have disabilities, whether it is physical or mental but it prevents them from working. Senior citizens are past the age or working life and students would prefer to get an education instead of settling for any old job. These are all the reasons why people are part of the unemployment statistics. In other cases, there are people who are ready and able but there are no jobs for them.
